In Carefree Truth Issue #852 dated August 24th we informed our readers that progress on the Veterans Memorial was moving forward. We mentioned that a crane would be on site on Wednesday, August 26th at 9:00am to place the three stones that will be the center piece of the Memorial. The crane arrived on schedule and the stones were stood up. They look great and will be a fitting center piece once the Memorial is complete and the bronze plaques are attached.
Tasks that remain are:
Preparation of the site for the installation of the pavers.
Installation of the pavers.
Placement of curbing around the Memorial.
Installation of three benches.
The final task will be attaching the six bronze medallions honoring the branches of the Armed Forces and placement of the dedication plaque on the front stone.
We anticipate these tasks will be completed within the next several weeks. Once all the tasks are complete we will select an appropriate date to hold a dedication ceremony and announce this date to the community.
We invite everyone to visit the site and witness the progress firsthand. Donations are still being accepted and greatly appreciated. Please visit https://attveterans.org/carefree/ to make your tax-deductible donation.
